"Creative Alchemy" by Bruce Voyce
"This project combines kinetic sculpture, performance, and interactivity. A series of costumes
have been intricately crafted from repurposed plastic containers.... The participants at Recompression 2009 will become part of
a theatre of hybrid creatures. An unpredictable ritual begins, as the creative collaborative breathes life into the artwork."
"There will be an invitation to wear the costumes at various points during Recompression. At
present, there are six full costumes and 9 masks. With a workshop to demonstrate the creation of this type of art, a set of possibilities for
future development and involvement is created. I have a set of professional lights, and the
participants will have the opportunity to explore their superpowers in an etherial photo booth."

"A fifteen foot kinetic steel sculpture will also be installed. ʻIndustrial Baroqueʼ combines semi-
transparent perforated steel with moving parts resulting in a hybrid interactive work of art."
"The Mary Poppins Experience" by Louise Mason
"My proposal is to create a mini musical show (approx 10 minutes) including aerial dance, with a Mary Poppins theme.... The aerial aspect will involve an aerial cradle (a long loop of material suspended from a beam in the Moose Lodge). I would be the main aerialist. I would initially fly across or descend from on high via a pulley or flying fox/zipline type apparatus.
"My intention is to entertain and delight with skill and humour. Mary Poppins embodies the qualities of enthusiasm, inquisitiveness and wisdom and sheer joie de vivre."
"I have three aerial loops which were used last year for people to sit or hang in around the Moose Lodge... or create impromptu performance through a medium which few had tried before."
"Divine Reflections" by St. Even
"My proposed Recompression art project is the further development of an interactive art piece that utilizes cameras, face tracking technology, and original paintings to create a live mixed-media portrait of the audience viewing the piece. The work is motivated by my mixed media portraiture series ‘divine reflections.’ The series uses bright colors and fantastic situations to present ordinary people in a novel light, attempting to awaken in the viewer a sense of the beauty or divinity inherent within us all."
"Having explored the series for five years, I’ve discovered that the connection to divinity is particularly interesting when the viewer is the subject of the work of art. Making an interactive exhibit allows the series to explore this concept much more deeply. By presenting the work in a photo booth format, I hope to allow many more people to experience themselves as reflections of the divine."
"Candle-lit labyrinth" by Leslie Kennah
Inspired by the Down the Rabbit Hole theme, the labyrinth will form the shape of a tantalizing mushroom, the opening of the pathway originating at the succulent stem. People will be able to indulge their curiosity by exploring the labyrinth pathway. The pathway, lined with glowing paper bags filled with candles, will curve inward spiraling towards the centre of the mushroom cap. One can follow the pathway to the centre and back out again.
