Exploding Soda

Facilitator: StripeyMcdangerpants, Esq., LLC - Yes, you know Stripey... she's the silly one with the Star Wars tattoos and the Bacon Paddle with fuchsia hair and will greet you if you arrive before lunch on Friday. She's always being a goof and is generally talking... a lot. She wanted to do a fun workshop this year and thought this would be a blast. And since it's only about 15 minutes, it's not a lot in terms of a time commitment so you can do this workshop and then still have time for another one as well as your next meal.

Date & Time: 12noon Saturday
Location: Cluster 2 Cabins - by cabin #9, The Zig Lounge - this means we will be in the center of a bunch of cabins and we may get others sprayed with cola if they are not aware of what we are doing!! (insert sinister laugh)
Duration: 1/2 hour at the most
Minimum number of participants: 5
Maximum number of participants: 14 - I must stick to this total amount because I have just enough ingredients for 14 participants.

UPDATE - I have three (3) people already signed up so I have room for another 11 and no more.

Participation Requirements:
The ability to laugh at one's self is a must! Please be prepared to be sprayed with Diet Coke - this will not be as docile as mixing baking soda and vinegar. Think of Alice on The Brady Bunch when she connected the wires for their volcano.... We are not responsible for sticky fun fur, dread locks or bodies. However you will giggle and think this is the coolest workshop you have ever gone to. It should last about 15 minutes at the most.

Workshop Description:
We will be dropping Mint Mentos into 2L bottles of Diet Coke and watching it explode in a shower of soda. This experiment has been all over YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMXPOqovSBs∞) and was dissected on Myth Busters as to the 'why' of you having to use Diet Coke and Mint Mentos. I only have enough for each participant to do one bottle but it's not rocket science and you can amaze all your friends this summer when you re-enact this experiment. It's fun, silly and foamy.

Another update - experimentation means that as long as your cola has Aspertame, you can use it. And there are things called Scottish Mints that are the same as Mentos so I have enough for 14 participants to explode two bottles of soda. YEAH!! Sign up sooner than later!!!

• If you don't want to get your outfit possibly wet, wear protective clothing such as a rain coat, protective goggles for covering glasses, rain boots or a beautiful rain poncho you can get at The Dollar Store.
• Fun is sure to be had by all!!!
