S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y NIGHT!
S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y NIGHT!

Gonna keep the Gate safe for my good, close friends
On Saturday night, Saturday night
Guarding the entrance with our hearts and heads
On Saturday night, Saturday night
You-you-you-you and a mate
You-you-you-you have set the date

OK. I'll stop trying to make that song fit the needs of The Gate. But you get the picture. We *need* people to be at The Gate from 6pm to 12mid on Saturday night. Two hour shifts are available and waiting for your awesomeness to fill!!

Here's what you get:

Think of how wonderful you will feel by helping out your fellow camp-mates by volunteering for a shift. The shifts are from 6pm to 8pm; 8pm to 10pm; and 10pm to 12mid. The sooner you sign up, the better. ALL cabins and lodges are required to do a Gate or Greeters shift. Greeters are covered. Gate needs to be filled and your cabin/lodge will get put into a slot if your cabin does not sign up. These shifts *will* be filled first. They are the most important ones that are available.

Please email Stripey to reserve your space at gate@recompression.com - Stripey She needs two (2) people per shift. Don't be shy. Step on up and be those people whom took charge and made The Gate happen for Saturday night.

Thank You.

Here is the schedule so far. Please email Stripey to get yourself on this list. I need at least 2 people per shift. http://recompression.com/wiki2/GateSchedule

BE SMART! GET YOUR FRIENDS SOME RECOMP ART!!!
The tattoo is art and you get to put it on your friends, new & old.
They get to decide where they want the art/tattoo and think of the possibilities of fun of putting art on them!!!

We are going to have a new "step" in entering the site this year: A GATE!!

Be the first one to see your friends!!
Smile and have fun with them before they enter the event!!
Get to know your fellow Burners and Friends!
Be the one to radio the Greeters that there is a newbie coming down and they need to be Greeted with a paddling. <......this is an awesome thing to announce, BTW.

Just like at Burning Man, you will stop at the gate, have your registration checked, have your tattoo put upon your person and you will sign a waiver. Previously these steps were done with the Greeters but their job is to Greet you. Our job at The Gate will be to make sure you do all the necessary stuff and then get greeted. This is not a new "step" really but just an added stop.
The Gate will be at the entrance to Elphinstone, at the top of the driveway down to the Greeters. All cars MUST stop there to get checked in properly. After you have completed the necessary steps, you will then proceed into the camp and be greeted.
We need help at The Gate. This will involve what you may have previously done as a Greeter in past years but at a new location. This is not Greeting. This is ensuring only registered participants are entering our event, having the proper tattoo on their person and that they properly sign the waiver. It's quite simple. But we need help.
Please contact: gate@recompression.com - Stripey
Shifts will be just like in previous years of a 3 or 2 hour shift - you will have a radio and people will bring you food. You won't be stuck out there, starving. As always, you must provide your own drinks if you don't want coffee that may get cold on the walk up there.
Here is the schedule so far. Please email Stripey (see above for email addy) to get yourself on this list. I need at least 2 people per shift. http://recompression.com/wiki2/GateSchedule
Sign up for Friday day and you can get your volunteer part over early!!! A whole cabin/lodge at one time would be GREAT!! I know not all of you will get here at the same time but the ferry that docks at 12n on Friday is a wonderful set of folks to register as is the ferry that docs at 8:10pm on Friday.
