Here is a copy of the rules for LNT in the cabins that i made. please
let me know ASAP if there is anything i missed so i can add it on
monday. i have also made various LNT reminder posters to place around
the event and have printed out the cabin sign up sheets. i will be
stapling clear garbage bags for recycling and black bags for garbage in
each cabin. 2 extra garbage cans will be placed outside the moose lodge
for saturday night. big cans will be provided on each porch for
cigarette butts. let me know if i need to do anything else!

THE 6 SIMPLE RULES OF CABIN ETIQUETTE

1. This is a LEAVE NO TRACE event. Although garbage
and recycling bags are provided, please take them
with you when you leave and dispose of them
elsewhere.

2. DO NOT remove the mattresses from the cabins. This
is a health and safety issue.

3. No glass is to leave the cabin. Please fix
refreshments in your cabin and leave with plastic
containers.

4. Smoke only in designated areas. NO SMOKING in the
cabins, period. There are cigarette cans on your
porch. Remember: this is kids� camp; they should not
come here and find cigarette butts under their
mattresses or in the grass. �Counselor, counselor,
I found a magic stick. I put it in my mouth! Yummy!�

5. When you leave, please spend half an hour
supporting LEAVE NO TRACE by helping pick up any
MOOP on the grounds. Treat Camp Elphinstone like
the Playa. DON�T LET IT HIT THE GROUND!!

6. DO NOT leave candles unattended. Did Smokey the
Bear teach you nothing?


NOTES FROM POST RECOMP wrap-up last year
* Cabin Monitors - didn't really do that much other than Leslie putting up the safety/schedule sheets and Julie reminding her cabins what to do. Abel did a fantastic job with the LNT and the trash/recycling. We ALL did a good job of leaving no trace.
