Peer Support is a grounding space intended to provide a safe space for someone in emotional or physical distress to reclaim a more solid grounding and sense of peace with the aid of an attendant or close friend. There will always be someone available Friday and Saturday nights to offer a calming presence, open ear and the comfort that it's all going to be okay.
Volunteers at the Peer Support Centre will work in close conjunction with the Rangers and First Aid attendant to provide support as needed.
The only requirement to be a Peer Support attendant at recompression is to be a grounded, sensitive individual who can sit with peers who are in emotional distress, whether due to altered states or other reasons. It is also crucial that Peer Support attendants be committed to show up at the agreed time and be sober for their shift. There is no need for the Peer Support attendant to have first aid - just a strong sense of compassion, ability to promote calm, a non-judgemental attitude and a sincere desire to help. Also - we may have someone to host a Peer Support Workshop (details yet to be confirmed) for anyone who is seeking more information or guidance on Peer Support.

This year, the Healing Centre will be available for massage, meditation, yoga and quiet reflection during the daytime and nighttime. Anyone drawn to the healing energies and/or wishing to share them are welcome, and may give and/or receive until offers expire.

NOTES FROM PREVIOUS RECOMPs
* Jenn Archer's remarks were read. DanceSafe sheets should not be on display but in a binder as at least one person saw them after taking something and got a little nervous about the "worst-case-scenarios" on the sheets. Will put them and other items in a binder for all to read. Not as many people knew it was there. Healing Center needs to be made available for more than just the HC or medical center. People maybe not aware it was only HC/MC at certain times. Maybe white board w/schedule? Healing Center was not utilized to it's full capacity so need to make it available to all during certain times next year.
